Album: Structures - All Of The Above EP [2010]

Now, there comes a time in our lives when we need to take a moment to appreciate the little things; the centre of a watermelon, flowers, the love an animal can give you, and let's not forget orgasmic musical passages/arrangements of exhilarating polyrhythmic melodic breakdowns and pure instrumental intelligence. This is one of those moments- please listen loudly and proudly (if you're a local, these are local Toronto boys)- relax, sit back, and kick it!

Lyrics

Departure This time, we’ll reach for the sky. Our lives will be our safe place where every instant of love will be with me, forever with me. Every memory ends with me, it can’t be forgotten. We’ve been waiting for everything, and it stays with me, makes me feel anything. One day we’ll rest our heads, and you will see…

Transitions Life can be anything we want it to be, get the walls. We can not look back, but think about. They can't stop us now, from our thoughts and our dreams with the visions of liberty. For all those sleepless nights, in arms you can't reach, we'll fall. We are shaping; we are taking everything to the ground. You can’t save us from ourselves, you can’t even save yourselves. You can’t stop us from our thoughts, our visions of a better world. But now take it this way, you can’t stop me now. Everything is lost so prepare yourself when the end is here. Remember, the world can’t be forgotten. We’re busy shaping a new world. You can’t save us from ourselves, you can’t stop us from our thoughts and dreams, our visions of fucking apathy, for all those sleepless nights, we’re falling down again. These transitions in reverie could never be what you wanted them to be, it's what I believe. These sleepless nights in arms you can't reach will never be what you thought they would be. I can't sleep, I can’t breath. I can't breathe the air that you breathe, I can't be the dreams that you dream. You’re taking your time, and I can’t breathe the air. I can't breath the air that you breathe, I can't be the dreams that you dream. Living life in reverie could never be what you fucking thought it would be.

Encounter… Our lives are nothing but a means to an end. And when the ground cracks beneath your feet, you will find the only thing that’s left is peace of mind, or any other fucking kind. I’ve been reciting this with an imminent gaze, and now I don’t know if you’ve got it in you but, life will be the fucking death of me. This is all just a repetition. To everyone, make it a mission to be the change you want to see. Lay down the foundation and where you wish to be. I promise that it won’t be the place you’ll find me. Get ready for the calm, before the storm. These are the words that we speak, but have you seen the things that we’ve been seeing? Buried beneath the walls, get ready for the calm I say. Have you seen what I’ve been, waiting for the passage our light brings? Have you seen what I’ve seen? Get ready, buried beneath the walls, today resigns the peace through our decisions. This is a calling to arms; we cannot face our decisions in favor of you. Don’t you think it’s time to go home? You’re always running from it. This is what it feels to be torn, but death will beat you to it. Don’t you think it’s time to go home? This is what it feels to be torn and this is what it is… I bet you never saw this coming.

In Pursuit of To amount for the travelled skies, I’m seeing picture perfect lines. Now breathe in the masses, a carrier in our feat of tired dreams. Gravity holds us to a stand still. Look for the better signs; we’re all in pursuit of this time. It’s all laid out right in front of me, looking back into absence. And I’ll stop running from what never chases me, when you keep your hands where everyone can see…What’s become of this place we once loved? They said it was coming…Oh fuck, this is just my luck. We’ve all paid the fucking price. They said it was coming, oh my god, now here it comes. Tides never brought the change we all thought that they would bring. Now set the sky aflame. So tell me, are you gonna’ make a decision that you’ll regret years from now? When you keep your hands where everyone can see but what’s become of this place we once loved. You can back into absence. So bite your fucking tongue, cause your out of control this time. Now let me teach you a thing or two about life. We’ve all paid the fucking price. What’s become of this place we once loved? What has happened to this place that we once loved? Now here it comes.....

Still Waters Now climbing mountains on the verge of the fall, but looking backwards in time, I could feel the walls about to break. And losing devotion in time has meant there will be nothing left for me. We are the solution. Breathe, breathe in the bright, breathe in the sight. Breathe in, it’s all around you. Breathe, breathe in the sight, breathe in the bright. Prove that it’s all around you. We are the creation. We are the solution to all. And this indifference won’t mean a fucking thing, because I am everywhere. You thought you could survive this but now you’ve lost all motion. Take this place, rip down the walls and make it yours. I am the storm and here we go again. Breaking down, I swear I’ll tear you apart. This indifference won’t mean a fucking thing; this is all just a feeble attempt at the sound. Oh, haven’t you heard that it’s all just a matter of time? Have I lost all faith in my mind? No I told you, I told you, I told you a thousand times. I told you a thousand times…Never lay your dreams aside; we’ve been losing the light. Carried along still waters, we’re always losing our place in time. This is all just a feeble attempt at the sound, I’ve told you a thousand times. Losing devotion in time, it’s taking over our lives. Breaking down, it’s all just a matter of time. It’s just a matter of time.

Destain - Fuck Yourself EP [2010]

Tracklist:

1. Bitches Abroad
2. Kill You
3. Sharks Don't Cry
4. Treblinka
5. What Comes Around Is All Around

Bloody and raucous; the Mississauga/Aurora quintet, DESTAIN is one of the most anticipated up and coming metal bands. "If you don't move, I might have to kick you in the balls," lead vocalist Mike Hewat warns; the fervently awaiting crowds know Destain's performances mean only one thing: the mosh pit is imminent.

With two first place battle of the bands awards in hand, DC Music's 2006 "Last Band Standing Contest" and Supernova's 2007 June 1st @ The Opera House, DESTAIN continues to offer up a pit-deep, low-end storm of thrash metal hail from hell. There is no doubt that the preamble from Treblinka is their definition: "I am the devil, and I am here to do the devil's work."

Grounded by the bestial tom-poundings of drummer, Brendan Mariani, and heavy backings by bassist Cody Bastarache, rhythm guitarist Matt Keeley and lead axe-man, Alex Barker serve up a barrage of boulder-sized riffs that culminate into an air-tight, sonic crunch. In a rage resembling that of a conniption, Barker attacks his guitar and, with fleeting fingers, consummates his fury with a sprinkling of magic "spells" all over the fret board.

Like heroin-addiction, heavy music fans seem hooked at once, and before you can squeal out a pathetic, "Please don't hurt me," emerges the sordid, ragamuffin-crew of hay-making moshers, slinging their array of reckless punches, unbridled kicks and thrusting shoves. Singer Hewat connects with the crowd and is a sight to behold. Amid violently flailing locks, he snarls out nail-sharp, poison-dipped, vocal buck shots and aims them straight at your mutha-f@$%* head.

For those of the weak at heart, mustering up enough courage for their next gig might require a substantial dose of careful deliberation; so be forewarned: DESTAIN will de-skin. They'll have you screaming for Aloe Vera as they violently blast your entire body through their earsplitting, sandpaper-laced, euphonic canon.

Quote From Immi:

"Hi there!

Thank you so much for coming and having a look here.
If you weren't at London's show last night, let me explain a little what this is all about.

At the Shepherd's Bush Empire, I tried out something for the first time that I hope will become the first of many.

A live improvised piece of music, where the key, tempo and time signature were chosen by the audience 30 seconds before I started.

I gave it my best shot and began to sing, play and record whatever came into my head.

"The Shepherdess" is what the audience heard.
I held up a sign on stage and asked the audience to take a picture of me with it for the cover art.
Thank you for the photo!

All the proceeds from "The Shepherdess" goes to Great Ormond Street hospital.

Why? Because it's a local London Charity and because when I was one, they diagnosed me with Osteomyelitis. A brilliant surgeon then operated swiftly and saved my little leg.

I've wanted to thank them ever since.

This was the tester. If It works out I'll be doing this regularly wherever I tour.

The charities will always be local. The piece determined by the audience from that area.

We'll get a website for you to keep a track of what charity I'm supporting in the areas I'm touring.

Hope you like the music. I think there are some really lovely moments.

Lots of love"

Album: Angels & Airwaves - Love [2010] Released Feb, 14

Love is the third studio album by alternative rock band Angels & Airwaves. It was released on February 12, 2010 on Fuel TV, and on February 14 on Modlife and iTunes. The album was released free of charge due to "corporate underwriting". A "special edition" hard copy is also going to be released which Tom Delonge stated will include extra tracks. The release date of the hard copy is not yet available.

Sound and preview:
The music of Love, DeLonge says, will have a progressive rock kind of flavor. "It's like blending Radiohead and U2 together with these kind of Pink Floyd movements", he explains. "Things happen unpredictably and take you to these epic soundscapes. It's very much in the spirit of Angels & Airwaves, but it sounds way, way more thought-out and way more ambitious." In 2008, Tom DeLonge had fun with a new acoustic song, along with various other demos from I-Empire, he later suggested that he would make this into a song. David Kennedy previewed two new songs from the Love album via Modlife in July 2009 with the working titles "Triumphant" and "Epic Holiday". David Kennedy also played a clip of another song in August, The song's title was confirmed to be 'Soul Survivor' by Tom DeLonge in a blog on the band's own Modlife site. During September 2009, a new video was posted on Modlife showing a man in a suit drawing the new Angels & Airwaves logo, this featured a new song clip.

7. "The Moon-Atomic (...Fragments and Fictions)"
8. "Clever Love"
9. "Soul Survivor (...2012)"
10. "Letters to God, Part II"
11. "Some Origins of Fire"
12. "Hallucinations" (Mark Hoppus Octopus Remix)

Members:
Tom DeLonge – vocals, guitar
David Kennedy – guitar
Matt Wachter – bass, keyboards
Atom Willard – drums

Album Trailer:

Production:
The album began production in January 2009, after touring with Weezer in the fall of 2008. Production went very slowly as DeLonge was away on tour with Blink-182. DeLonge has compared the album's space rock influenced sound to that of U2 and Pink Floyd.

On their Facebook page, the band stated that on the 4th of January they returned to the studio to put the finishing touches to the Love album in time for the February 14 release.

On January 12, 2010, the band released a promotional video entitled "C:\Transmission_Love", which contained a short preview of an upcoming song.

Release & special editions:
In May 2009, it was announced that the album would be released on Christmas Day[3]. However, on July 19, 2009, DeLonge announced via Modlife that the album will not be released on Christmas day as previously planned, and instead will be released on Valentine's Day. The album was released free of charge through Modlife on Valentine's Day 2010.

The free download of the album will contain eleven tracks, but a physical copy of the album is also going to be released which will contain the same eleven tracks along with 30 minutes of extra music from the Love movie. The extra music will all flow together. Tom Delonge has also indicated that there will be a deluxe edition of the album with even more bonus material; a release date for this has yet to be announced.

The first single from the album, "Hallucinations" was released free of charge on December 23, 2009. Tom Delonge has said that there is a music video in the works for the song.

Angels & Airwaves released the album an hour and a half early via their Modlife page at 4:30PM Pacific Time to their Premium members and Fuel TV subsequently released it at 6 PM Pacific Time on February 12th. free of charge. Furthermore, a remix of Hallucinations by Mark Hoppus became available to all of those who donate money when downloading Love from Modlife.

The Film:
A movie with the same title Love will also be released. It, "tells a story of human life and destiny but at the same time really makes usual moments of life extraordinary. It's a circular narrative in many ways, where it kind of sums up the human race in a time capsule". A 3-minute trailer was released on Friday, July 31, 2009 on the Angels & Airwaves website, featuring explosions, heavy artillery and Civil War soldiers. Part of the song "Letters to God, Part II" was featured during the video. The movie also appears to involve scenes aboard the International Space Station, keeping true to Tom's apparent interest in space as seen in many Angels & Airwaves music videos. The official movie trailer was released on Apple Trailers on Friday, October 30 2009, and is available on Modlife. The film has no relation to the 2008 film, Start the Machine, which was a documentary that followed the making of the first album.

Film Trailer:

On January 7, Tom shared a bit of the plot of the movie on ModCam, saying that the astronaut goes through a wormhole and meets God.

More was released on the plot of the movie when Tom DeLonge was interviewed by ABC. He said, on January 22, that the movie "centers on an astronaut who is stranded in a space station as the Earth collapses."

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Tom was asked what the movie Love was about. He said, "It starts in the Civil War and you travel through time and space. There's a couple of different storylines. The main one is, a guy gets sent up to the International Space Station, and he gets abandoned up there. He doesn't know why. So throughout his years of being stuck up there, he sees the Earth starting to collapse below. He ends up basically becoming the last person alive. And then decades later, he wakes up one day and there's something outside of his spaceship, in low Earth orbit with him."

On the Apple website, a description of the movie Love reads as follows: "After losing contact with Earth, Astronaut Lee Miller becomes stranded in orbit alone aboard the International Space Station. As time passes and life support systems dwindle, Lee battles to maintain his sanity - and simply stay alive. His world is a claustrophobic and lonely existence, until he makes a strange discovery aboard the ship. Driven by the powerful music of Angels & Airwaves, Love explores the fundamental human need for connection and the limitless power of hope… A high-impact visual adventure, that resonates a common truth, that everyone has a story to tell and something even greater to leave behind.

Album: Hours and Hours: a Tribute to Seaweed [2008] [Compilation]

A good friend of mine asked me to grab this and up it. I hope ya'll enjoy!

To those who don't know, Seaweed was an influential post-hardcore band in the 90's who helped define a new movement in punk. Now by post-hardcore, I mean the orignal post-hardcore, which were bands that came out after 80's hardcore. Bands like Fugazi, Jawbreaker, Samiam, and other similar artists. A brand of emotional, catchy punk with melodic breaks and a new approach to an old idea. This tribute album is just that, a very good tribute to the band and their sound. There were only a few bands I had ever heard of on this album, but all the bands did a real good job contributing to the album in their own unique way.

The best part of this tribute album is that half of the bands did real good versions of Seaweed songs that were very close to the originals, but some bands performed their own take on the songs, which was a pleasant surprise. Some tribute or cover albums are just purely carbon-copies of the songs. Those albums can be ok, but usually it's worth it to just listen to the originals. This tribute album had such variety within itself that it shows the true extent of the influence of Seaweed and shows that not just punk kids can get these songs. That speaks not to just the bands who are on this album, but Seaweed as well, and that is the real purpose of a tribute album, to show others how much this band meant to you in hopes they can experience them in a similar way.

Overall, this was a refreshing release and it was a very good tribute to a very good band. It should serve the purpose of enlightening a new generation of music fans to Seaweed's music and influence on the scene. It's always good to step back and look at some of the bands that helped define the genre of music today that we all love. Seaweed was one of those bands that came around and did things their own way, no matter what people said. The musical version of a cult classic basically, Seaweed is proudly and properly represented in this tribute. This is a great buy for anyone who likes Seaweed and a great buy for anyone who enjoys good music in general.

Tutorial: Converting/Transcoding FLAC to MP3 - Simple!

The Complete Guide: Converting/Transcoding FLAC to MP3

FLAC reduces bandwidth and storage requirements without sacrificing the integrity of the audio source. A digital audio recording (such as a CD track) encoded to FLAC can be decompressed into an identical copy of the audio data. Audio sources encoded to FLAC are typically reduced to 50–60% of their original size.[2] During compression, FLAC does not lose quality from the audio stream, a notable characteristic of lossy compression formats such as MP3, AAC, and Vorbis.

FLAC is suitable for everyday audio playback and archival, with support for tagging, cover art and fast seeking. FLAC's free and open source royalty-free nature makes it well-supported by many software applications. FLAC playback support in portable audio devices and dedicated audio systems is limited at this time compared to lossy formats like MP3, THIS IS WHY CONVERTING/TRANSCODING FLAC TO MP3 MIGHT BE IDEAL!

The Complete Guide: Converting/Transcoding FLAC to MP3

If you have any questions, let me know!!!

Adair - The Destruction of Everything Is The Beginning of Something New [2006] [FLAC & MP3 320kbps]

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
This is my absolute favourite CD of all time.

I was just looking around the public torrents and I found that this CD was not being seeded at all and is pretty much forgotten about. I was checking the bitrate of my version of the CD to see what the quality was and as it turns out my version was MP3 @ 160kbps, which is pretty low quality- especially for my favourite CD.

I had a look on the greatest website of all time, What.CD, for the album and I found a FLAC! I am soo freaking excited to share this with all of ya'll. I've linked both the FLAC and my transcoded version of the album at MP3 @320kbps (perfect MP3 quality)

Enjoy!!!!!! :)

The Gorgeous - Great Lakes [2005] [320kBps]

Intensely technical hardcore shit

The Gorgeous were a metalcore band based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The band formed in the summer of 2003 with Dali on guitar, Julien on Bass and Miguel on drums. The three played a few shows without a vocalist and quickly recruited Jordon.

The band recorded a five song demo at Flying Monkey Studio in Kelowna and took a one year hiatus. The following summer, the band had an opportunity to tour Canada upon which they decided to relocate to Montreal and renew their music career. In Montreal they recruited Hal Ferris on second Guitar. Shortly after, the Gorgeous was signed to Distort Entertainment and in the fall of 2005 recorded Great Lakes at Silo Studios in Stoney Creek. The Gorgeous subsequently toured Canada several times and in January 2007 toured the UK as direct support for the Architects. A few months prior to this tour, Hal decided to go back to school and was replaced by Kevin Keegan from A Javelin Reign and Bend Sinister. The Gorgeous recorded one last demo to be used as promo for their upcoming album and the four new songs are as of now on a fake Myspace page, under the name Jubilations.

They toured with the Cancer Bats in 2007 on their last tour.

On March 7, 2007 on their MySpace page, the band announced they were breaking up. Most of the fans protested, and petitioned to keep the band together.

Vocalist Jordon Daniel is now the only member currently still playing and performing music. Known now as The Boogieman Jordon Daniel, he plays blues and folk influenced music.
