Between the Buried and Me - The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues‎ [2011] [V0 WEB] HoTT

The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues is the first EP by American heavy metal band Between the Buried and Me. It is expected to be released on April 12, 2011 through Metal Blade Records. The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues is the first release in a two-part conceptual album suite and is the first release by the band since their signing to Metal Blade.

Between the Buried and Me made the conscious decision to preclude a studio album with an extended play for several reasons. In addition to being part of a concept album series, frontman Tommy Giles Rogers also listed wanting to keep the group's name "out there" and seeking new material to perform at concerts. The Band has also uploaded the entire EP up for stream on MetalSucks.

- Release Notes ------------------------------------------------------------- -

Protest The Heros well-deserved title as one of the most forward-thinking
bands in the metal world today is showcased on their latest album,
Scurrilous. Named after a painting created by Arifs grandfather (which is
also the albums cover image), Scurrilous is the bands third full-length
album and boasts ten tracks of soaring guitar riffs, bone-chilling operatic
vocals, and some of the most personal lyrics Protest The Hero has written to
date. Scurrilous is an album unlike any other in Protest The Heros catalog.
For the first time in the bands career, singer Rody wrote the majority of
the albums lyrics. " I had a lot going on in my life and I used (Scurrilous)
as my outlet," Rody notes. "The songs are really just a loose string of my
thoughts and touch upon relationships in my life, both good and bad." Without
any conceptual restraints Rody was allotted complete artistic freedom during
the writing process resulting in honest and intimate lyrics listeners can
make their own. But PTH fans ought not to fret as Scurrilous lyrics by no
means overshadow the riff-oriented music Protest The Hero is known for, but
instead create a cohesive shred-fest you can relate to while rocking out.
Scurrilous shows Protest The Hero veering away from the mystical and steering
straight towards the heart strings of listeners. "I dont really have any
idea what people are going to think of it," Rody jokes. "In my mind it
(Scurrilous) seems like such a departure, but when I sit and listen it seems
like such a natural progression."nk of it," Rody jokes. "In my mind it
(Scurrilous) seems like such a departure, but when I sit and listen it seems
like such a natural progression."

Converting Lossless to Lossy (FLAC to MP3)

The Complete Guide: Converting/Transcoding FLAC to MP3

FLAC reduces bandwidth and storage requirements without sacrificing the integrity of the audio source. A digital audio recording (such as a CD track) encoded to FLAC can be decompressed into an identical copy of the audio data. Audio sources encoded to FLAC are typically reduced to 50–60% of their original size.[2] During compression, FLAC does not lose quality from the audio stream, a notable characteristic of lossy compression formats such as MP3, AAC, and Vorbis.

FLAC is suitable for everyday audio playback and archival, with support for tagging, cover art and fast seeking. FLAC's free and open source royalty-free nature makes it well-supported by many software applications. FLAC playback support in portable audio devices and dedicated audio systems is limited at this time compared to lossy formats like MP3, THIS IS WHY CONVERTING/TRANSCODING FLAC TO MP3 MIGHT BE IDEAL!

Yellowcard - When You're Through Thinking, Say Yes [2011] [320kbps] HoTT

Following the band's reformation after their hiatus (from 2008–2010), they immediately began working on their new album. Ryan Key, who had previously been in a small project with Reeve Oliver vocalist/guitarist Sean O'Donnell (who was chosen as Pete Mosely's replacement when the band reformed) called "Big If", confirmed that some of Big If's songs were going to be reworked by Yellowcard and included on the new album. On August 3, 2010, the band announced that they were going into the studio in September with Neal Avron to record the new album. While in the studio, they revived "Yellowcard Sessions" (Yellowcard's YouTube updates), and recorded studio updates that were shown originally on Rock Sound magazine's website. On November 8, 2010, Yellowcard finished recording their seventh studio album. On November 13, 2010, the new album title was announced to be When You're Through Thinking, Say Yes at a show at the Glass House in Pomona, California, where they also played "For You and Your Denial," the first song to be played from the album. Ryan Key confirmed that there would not be a title track. On December 9, 2010, the artwork for the album was posted on the official site of the band. On January 5, 2011, the band revealed the album's tracklist. The first single to be released from the album was "For You, and Your Denial", which was released January 18, 2011, on iTunes. The band also stated that there will be 2 full-band bonus tracks not featured on the main track list, while there will be a further bonus disc with 10 acoustic versions of the original songs.

On February 22, 2011, the music video for "For You and Your Denial" debuted on MTV2 and MTVU. The same day, the track "Hang You Up" was released as the second single off the album.

Morning Teleportation - Expanding Anyway [2011] [320kbps] HoTT

Modest Mouse frontman Isaac Brock is a solid A&R guy: He discovered Wolf Parade and SPIN faves Mimicking Birds. His latest discovery, Portland, OR-based psych-rock quintet Morning Teleportation, adds to his record with their debut album, Expanding Anyway, out March 8 via Brock's Glacial Pace Recordings. Listen to the entire LP below, exclusively via SPIN.com.

With their high-energy live performances and eclectic sound (banjo, talkbox, synthesizer, trumpet, theremin), the band built blogosphere buzz and rocked summer festivals including Bonnaroo. Their LP captures their essence onstage.

"Yelping and shouting like a genuine mental case, frontman Tiger Merritt rides a joyously chaotic wave on [the band's] debut," writes Jon Young in SPIN's album review, featured in our upcoming April issue. "Morning Teleportation possess their own wacky identity, lurching from avant-garde mischief to pop operatics to folk sweetness."

James Blake - The Wilhelm Scream [2011] [256kbps AAC] HoTT

Label: Atlas Recordings
Catalog#: ATLAS3T
Format: 12" Vinyl, Digital Download
Country: UK
Released: 7 Mar 2011

Tracklist:
1. The Wihelm Scream
2. What Was It You Said About Luck
3. Half Heat Full (Old Circular) [vinyl exclusive]

Arriving shortly after his extraordinary, eponymous debut LP, James Blake drops one its many highlights, 'The Wilhelm Scream' backed with two new and exclusive songs 'What Was It You Said About Luck' and 'Half Heat Full (Old Circular)'. If anything, the pristine electro-acoustic dynamism of 'The Wilhelm Scream' sounds even more dazzling given it's own side and pressed to 45rpm, his intentions coming through super crisp and clear. His new song, 'What Was It You Said About Luck' is perhaps more minimal and nuanced, slyly harmonised vocals moving around the artificial space with vivid, depth perception-realigning effect, before 'Half Heat Full (Old Circular)' displays him at his most tortured, bruised with distortion and seemingly singing from inside his grandad's shed. -Boomkat.com
