Chasing Shadows - Singles [2009] [320kbps] HoTT

Torrent! - Chasing Shadows - Singles [2010] [320kbps] HoTT

Dr. Sin / The End [2009] [Single]

Unruly hardstepping dubs from the H.E.N.C.H camp with two pieces of heavy artillery from Chasing Shadows, making their debut on the label. Obviously inspired by the likes of the Bristol's Tech Itch, Spor, and the Renegade Hardware label, Chasing Shadows make a heavily controlled racket for the dubstep ravers with 'Dr Sin', building up and crashing down into a crushing halfstep rhythm like Distance jamming with Limewax, or 'The End' on the flip sounding like label mates Komanazmuk or Jakes with filthy digital manipulations screwed into a hung halfstep framwork. Militant.

Ill / Amirah [2009] [Single]

This is the second 12” from recent HENCH signing, Chasing Shadows. The duo drop some serious pressure with these dark and dirty tunes straight from the heart of cutting-edge dubstep production. They’ve already received attention from the likes of: Mary Anne Hobbs, Pendulum, Plastician, N-Type, and Benga, so give them a listen and see what all the hype’s about!

A.ILL

‘Ill’ builds from an eerie intro, with sultry guitar chords and stabbing beat, slowly winding up to an immense drop. With twisted beats, a punishing b-line, and sweeping atmospherics, this is iller than ‘Ill’ – the bass is so low it will probably make you sick! Grimy and growling, this is a tune that’s going to tear your immune system to shreds.

AA. AMIRAH

Flip over for another dark, deep, no-nonsense number with ‘Amirah’; with ominous atmospherics, a stabbing drumbeat, and oriental female vox, ‘Amirah’ has plenty of spice and a feisty kick! A helicopter chopper sound fades in and out of consciousness and adds to the mayhem. Powerful and intense, with pummelling subs, heavy bassline and a thumping drum kick, ‘Amirah’ is a tune that takes no prisoners!

Michel Bisceglia - Invisible Light (2010) [V2] HoTT

Michel Bisceglia, born in Belgium on January 4, 1970 to a family of Italian origin, was introduced to music very early in life by his brother, who was a musician as well. Although, he began playing the keyboard by age 6, his formal training began at age 12 on classical piano. A few years later he switched to modern piano and by his second year in high school, Michel knew that he wanted a life dedicated to music and began an intense daily practice regimen at the piano. Early on in his development, Bill Evans, Lennie Tristano and Keith Jarrett were important piano influences. While access to the music of Mozart, Rachmaninov and Stravinsky he inspired his compositional and orchestral instincts. After few years of extensive self-study he began working as an composer, arranger, conductor and producing records.

Sufjan Stevens - All Delighted People [2010] [EP]

Raise your hands if you’re delighted to hear the good news that Sufjan is releasing an 8-song, 60-minute EP for digital download! Available immediately right here! As in right now! For only $5! From this up-and-coming-indie-DIY website, Bandcamp! (It will be available on iTunes, Amazon, and other corporate entities on Monday.)

http://sufjanstevens.bandcamp.com

The EP, All Delighted People, is built around two different versions of Sufjan’s long-form epic ballad "All Delighted People," a dramatic homage to the Apocalypse, existential ennui, and Paul Simon’s "Sounds of Silence." Sounds delightful, yes! The song was originally workshopped (oh we hate making workshop a verb, but time is money!) on Sufjan’s previous tour in the fall of 2009. Other songs on the EP include the 17-minute guitar jam-for-single-mothers "Djohariah," and the gothic piano ballad "The Owl and the Tanager," a live-show mainstay (and Debbie Downer if you ask us; what’s it doing on a "Delighted" EP?). The full track list is available on Bandcamp right here.

iamamiwhoami - Singles & Remixes [Aug.2010] [V0]

The following includes all of the iamamiwhoami releases, including remixes, to date.

"iamamiwhoami - Singles & Remixes [Aug.2010] [V0]"

iamamiwhoami is an electronic music project, featuring Jonna Lee as lead singer and unknown producers. Videos released from the project's YouTube channel have spread virally. The first clip was uploaded on December 4, 2009, and was forwarded to a number of music journalists and blogs. Another two short videos followed. Chris Cantalini and MTV writer James Montgomery reported about iamamiwhoami, fueling speculation online.

To date, the YouTube channel iamamiwhoami has released thirteen videos, six of which are short, roughly one-minute long teasers, and seven songs that were followed by single releases on iTunes and Amazon. MTV journalist James Montgomery called the project a "dendrophiliac's wet dream, loaded with images of a mud-smeared woman licking a tree and some strangely sexualized sap." The first six videos featured numeric titles, which were later decoded, while the latter bear single letters for titles. The music is eclectic, and could be described as electronic, alternative, and experimental; it features eerie, heavily distorted female vocals. The videos are believed to be part of a viral marketing campaign for a new artist or band.

Miss May I - Monument [2010] [320kbps]

For their sophomore release on Rise, Miss May I have taken everything great about their Apologies For The Weak debut and made them even better. While not all that much has been changed, the addition of clean vocals in every track has definitely made the band more approachable to metal fans that prefer something other than guttural growls and screeches.

Monument opens up immediately at the top of their game with “Our Kings”, a track that will easily become a favorite. While it hasn’t been long since their last record, Miss May I seem to have thrived from the nonstop touring and lack of time to relax. Some bands are better on the road, and these guys are proving just that. The gradual build of “Masses Of A Dying Breed” works well in increasing anticipation, and the song itself is incredibly brutal and memorable. It’s choruses like this one that make the album stand out even more than Apologies did. For those of you who may not feel too keen about the increase of singing on this kind of record, seek no further than “Answers” or “Creations” – these songs are especially dark and aggressive, showing that Miss May I have not, in any way, become ‘wimps’.

These guys are still playing metal as powerful as ever, and if you were someone worried about the band’s return, you can certainly relax; Monument is everything we were hoping for and more. Don’t hesitate to pick it up upon immediate release.

Animal Collective - ODDSAC [2010] [V0] [Soundtrack]

ODDSAC is an earthy, psychedelic experimental film narrative infused with the aural and musical sensibilities of musical group Animal Collective.

More than four years in the making, the film will have its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, January 21-31, 2010.

From wiki:
For the last three years, the band has been working on ODDSAC, a visual record with Danny Perez, who directed music videos for the band's "Who Could Win a Rabbit?" and "Summertime Clothes" singles. The movie is supposed to feature visuals to accompany their music. Panda Bear stated they would like to "create a movie that would have visuals similar to what somebody would see if they closed their eyes while listening to Animal Collective's music". Weitz further added that "it's the most experimental stuff we've ever done." According to Portner, "Maybe here and there, in our minds, there's some weird narratives going on. The whole thing cohesively doesn't have one narrative; it's more of a visual or psychedelic thing. There are parts that are almost completely abstract, and there are parts that are little bit more live-action."

NOTE: This encode is not so fresh.. I'll be sure to link the 320kbps when it arrives ;)

The song "Outnumbered" is now available for streaming at this location.

THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA vocalist Mike Hranica previously told the Alternative Press about the upcoming CD, "We have about two weeks to do an EP. We haven't really told anyone about it, so I'm not going to give away what the concept is, but it's going to be something really fun.

"A lot of bands do cover albums just for fans to enjoy and kind of laugh at, and it's going to be something kind of like that — fun, but not covers. It's not going to be a lot of full-length material, like what our next full-length will be. It's going to be… I hate to use the word 'brutal,' but maybe something along those lines."

2009 proved to be a breakthrough year for the young Christian metalcore band that has developed a mainstream buzz and secular cred. Beginning with a 43-date, completely sold out headline tour in spring 2009, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA — vocalist Hranica, guitarist/vocalist Jeremy DePoyster, guitarist Chris Rubey, bassist Andy Trick, keyboardist James Baney, and Daniel Williams on drums — went on to a main-stage slot on the Vans Warped Tour, and co-headlined (with ALL THAT REMAINS) the 27-date, fall '09 Napalm & Noise tour.

Enemy Logic - Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind [2010] [320kbps]

Enemy Logic is a 4 piece metalcore onslaught hailing from Cork, Ireland. The band came together to create uncompromisingly heavy yet melodic metal with a European sound.

The band started in 2002 and became known as Windfall for several years. Leaving the hard rock style of Windfall behind, the band incorporated a heavier sound and created Enemy Logic in 2008.

Through melodic hooks mixed with pure aggression and emotion, Enemy Logic hope to engulf it's listeners in a wall of heavy, brutal, and melodic sound.

The band is influenced heavily by European Metalcore such as The Sorrow, Caliban, and Heaven Shall Burn, Melodic Death Metal such as Arch Enemy and Soilwork, and also other varied genres including modern American Deathcore, Hardcore, and old school Thrash.

Enemy Logic have just finished recording their debut album “Bones As Armour” and expect it to be for sale in the very near future.
