At 74, Lee “Scratch” Perry refuses to slow down, as the beloved reggae and dub legend continues to drop albums on yearly basis. This year, Perry will release Revelation, the third album in a series of work with British multi-instrumentalist Steve Marshall. The two previously worked together on Scratch Came, Scratch Saw, Scratch Conquered and The End of an American Dream.
According to a press release, the album was recorded in California, New York, England and Perry's own mountain-top studio in Switzerland. In addition to Marshall, the album includes contributions from Keith Richards, George Clinton and many others.
Revelation will be released on August 10 via Megawave. In addition to the new album, Lee “Scratch” Perry has plotted a North American tour. There are no Canadian dates listed yet, but the trip is still in its planning stages.
