Known for his vibrantly creative Solo Looping Show, Matthew Hemerlien’s music is an original blend of classical and pop that ultimately falls into a category of its own. Fluent on six instruments, including the violin, cello, seven-string guitar, mandolin, piano, and upright bass, Matthew crafts tightly woven pop songs from soaring layers of strings punctuated with complex beats and undeniable melodic hooks. After contributing to fellow DC mastermind Nacey’s remix of La Roux’s ‘Bulletproof’ for Diplo’s Major Lazer x La Roux Lazerproof remix project, Matthew was featured on The BBC World News regarding his work as an Artist/Educator. He has performed with the likes of Scott Matthew, Junip, The National, Coco Rosie, Peaches, James Vincent McMorrow & Local Natives and played at such venues as The House of Blues New Orleans or SXSW in Austin and headlines a wildly popular monthly show at The Gibson Guitar Artist Showroom.
